MoMentum Companies Adds Business Sales to Brokerage Specialties
Wilmington, NC, July 31, 2017 – MoMentum Companies, Inc. proudly introduces a new addition to its portfolio of services. The company that has lent its expertise to community enhancements such as the South Front development and Castle Street Arts & Antiques District is now putting its knowledge to work for area businesses wishing to sell.
Long known for its savvy and integrity in commercial property leasing and buying, MoMentum Companies is now helping clients sell businesses, too.
“For more than thirty years, I’ve been involved in brokering and business development,” says Terry Espy, principal of MoMentum Companies. “Given Wilmington’s current growth, its variety of independent businesses, and the number of clients interested in buying and selling, it’s the right time to start helping people this way.”
In March 2017, MoMentum Companies began representing the first of a few select enterprises whose owners were ready to sell. These clients were familiar with the brokerage’s tailored approach to marketing and networking, and confident that MoMentum would use those skills to achieve success.
MoMentum Companies sold Two Sisters Bookery, a downtown Wilmington institution, in June 2017. After 40 years in the Cotton Exchange building, the bookstore’s owner wanted to move on, and contacted Joan Loch at MoMentum Companies. “Joan is well connected in the community and got the word out immediately that the store was for sale. I am so appreciative that the store sold within a few weeks, and Joan was instrumental in making that happen. She took all the stress off of me and handled all aspects of the sale, and that was such a relief,” says Barbara Galvin, seller of Two Sisters Bookery.
Business owners sell for myriad reasons, and buyers are often waiting for that singular opportunity. Thanks to MoMentum Companies’ industry knowledge and longstanding relationships within the region, the firm has a distinctive edge in finding qualified buyers when an owner wants to sell.
Currently, MoMentum Companies has approximately three area businesses listed for sale, including the Wine and Design Leland franchise, the Brown Dog Coffee Company in Burgaw, and fitness studio in mid-town, all receiving the boutique treatment for which the company is known. Three other businesses will come available in August. While most commercial real estate brokerages avoid getting involved with sales of businesses, at MoMentum, focusing on these sales is another way the company aims to deliver superior service to an expanding clientele.
