The Second Glass, Latest to Join the South Front Project

Wilmington NC. April 28, 2017 – We are proud to announce another outstanding restaurateur joining the South Front community. Celeste Glass, best known for her renown wine bar, The Fortunate Glass, located at 29 S. Front St. will be taking her vision to the next level.  The new location will be called The Second Glass to be located on the lower level of the new 2nd Street property soon to be under construction.

“We are thrilled to have Celeste Glass join this exciting project bringing her award winning concept on board.  What a perfect compliment to Vivian Howard’s venue, Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria” said Terry Espy, President of MoMentum Companies.
About

The Second Glass

– The Second Glass, has been a vision of Celeste Glass for some time now. The owner, Celeste Glass, has been established in the local wine bar scene since September 2010. “After 6 years in business, we realized that we have outgrown the current space and we needed more room to grow.  I plan to keep The Fortunate Glass and want The Second Glass to be a continuation of The Fortunate Glass concept” stated Celeste this week.  The Second Glass will be a wine bar first with small plates that accompany and complement the wine.  The kitchen will be much larger and they will be able to provide a larger selection of small plates.  A difference will be the addition of a selection of classic cocktails to round out the offerings.   “Our fans can expect more pairing menus and wine dinners in the new space” Celeste said.  “I couldn’t make this next step without my terrific staff at The Fortunate Glass”.

About South Front: South Front, recognized as one of Wilmington’s most successful rehab of a urban blighted property into the regions’ premier loft style apartments, by Tribute Properties is located along Greenfield Avenue, between Front and 3rd Streets. The successful completion of the multi-family component is now followed by Downtown Wilmington’s first warehouse retail & office environment.  Plans for the community include the complete renovation of the old Capps Building to include 18,000sf industrial style design for retail space as well as another 11,000+sf of unique office space on the second floor. Along 2nd St. a new 2 story urban designed building will host 7,000+ sf of retail at ground level and 6,800+office on the 2nd floor with extensive outdoor gathering areas.

The recent announcement of Vivian Howard and Ben Knight of “The Chef and The Farmer” fame opening “Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria” in late 2017 has already brought significant interest in this project.  “It has been a pleasure to work along with the Tribute team regarding their vision for bringing this area of Wilmington back to life again.” said Espy.  “The remarkable design by architect, Andrew Iatridis with ORA Architecture, of Raleigh, brings the complete concept to reality.”
