Changes Coming to an Iconic Water Street Property
Wilmington, NC, October 3, 2017 – Best known as the old “Water Street Restaurant” owned by Harper Peterson, the 182 year old Quince Building which sold in November of 2016 will be getting a facelift. The existing tenants, “Kabob & Grill” owners Gurdeep and Mona Singh completed their lease term the end of September and are now focusing on the Triangle market. Terry Espy, president of MoMentum Companies stated “Though Kabob & Grill will be missed downtown Wilmington we are pleased to be working with the owners in their relocation to the Cary area.” The family will continue to maintain a strong relationship in the Wilmington market, as Tandoori Bites on College Ave. is owned by Mona’s sister.
Even more exciting news, 5 S. Water St will undergo a complete renovation beginning this month. The new owner, Water Street LLC, Michael Lavigna currently of Myrtle Beach, plans to repair and reface the exterior of the historic building along with extensive renovations of the interior of the restaurant space. As owner of several restaurants in NY, LaVigna plans to create a “gastropub” concept with live music 4 nights a week.
An added bonus to the downtown riverfront will be new office suites built out on the upper floor. The upper floor was historically designed as warehouse space, has never been fitted up. Espy stated, “With unparalleled water views and historic architectural elements throughout, these new office suites will certainly be in great demand.” For more information on the office suites contact MoMentum Companies.
