A Tutu School Fit For Princesses

Wilmington, NC, December 19, 2017 We are proud to announce the arrival of The Tutu School opening on the perfectly named Princess Street. The Tutu School, owned by Madeline Martin will open this month at 244 Princess St in downtown Wilmington.

“I knew from the beginning I wanted a Downtown location for the studio. Since Tutu School is a small, boutique studio, I wanted it to have a quaint, neighborhood feel to it. I ultimately chose the Princess Street space because it truly felt meant to be. I mean how much more perfect than “Tutu School” on “Princess Street” can you get!” says Martin.  As someone who lives Downtown with a child, she truly believes children’s activities in Downtown are lacking. “So I am thrilled to bring such a magical space where children can twirl without abandon and explore the depths of their own creativity”.

“We were impressed with Madeline and her vision for her studio from the moment we met her” said Terry Espy, owner of Momentum Companies, also located in downtown Wilmington.

The Wallace Building has its own history and charm and this space was calling out be revitalized along with the building’s upper levels that now house The Wallace Work Lofts.  Momentum Companies and their partnership with Checkered Cab Productions have worked to breathe new life into all the spaces with new flooring, paint, art; creating a clean mid-century modern environment
About

The Tutu School

– Tutu School is a collection of boutique-style ballet schools that cater specifically to children 18 months to 8 years-old. Our mission is simple: We believe that exposing children at the earliest possible age to creativity, movement, and classical music will only serve them well in whatever they choose to do with their lives, that dancing like swans and Sugar Plum Fairies not only exercises little bodies but also nurtures big imaginations, and that twirling should be a fundamental part of any childhood.   Genevieve Custer Weeks founded the Tutu School franchise organization in 2006.

The Tutu School is having a soft opening this Thursday, the 21st for the holiday Nutcracker camps held on the 21st and the 22nd. The official grand opening will be January 8th when classes begin.
